Clove (Bud) Essential Oil

Clove bud oil is primarily produced in tropical regions such as Indonesia, India, Madagascar, and the Moluccas. The clove plant, Syzygium aromaticum, is a leafy tree that thrives in warm, moist climates with well-drained soil. The clove tree is typically propagated from cuttings and the flowers and buds used for clove bud oil production are harvested several years after planting. The oil is made by steam distillation of the buds and leaves of the clove plant. This oil has a sharp and sweet scent and has been used for centuries for medical purposes and as a fragrant oil for home use.
